01

Start With the Space and Your Priorities

We begin by discussing how your kitchen works today and what you want to change. Storage, appliance placement, lighting and circulation all help shape the plan. Depending on your property and goals, the project may involve a new layout, an island, updated cabinetry and countertops, or changes to the existing systems.

Structural and system changes need to be considered as part of the project’s planning and approval requirements.

02

Know What Is Included

Your proposal should clearly describe the work and selections covered by the project. Depending on the agreed scope, these may include demolition, cabinetry, countertops, backsplash, electrical and plumbing work, flooring repairs and appliance installation.

We also identify which products are supplied by the homeowner and which are supplied by the contractor. A defined specification helps everyone understand the work before it begins.

03

Keep the Project Coordinated

The process starts with a conversation and a property review, followed by scope development and material selections. We coordinate the work stages and communicate about decisions or changes that affect the project. At completion, we review the work and identify any remaining items to address.

Planning Your Kitchen Layout and Installation

  1. Review the layout: Review aisle space, cabinet and drawer openings, and the refrigerator, oven and dishwasher door clearances. Check how the sink, cooking area and storage will work together before finalizing an island.
  2. Define the specification: Confirm appliance model numbers and installation specifications before ordering cabinets. Record cabinet sizes, storage accessories, sink dimensions, countertop edges, backsplash selections and who supplies each item.
  3. Coordinate the work: Review any layout or system changes, required approvals, demolition, installation and delivery sequence.
  4. Review the finished kitchen: Check the agreed work and record any final adjustments or follow-up items.

Questions About Your Renovation

Can you change the kitchen layout?

We can review the changes you want. Structural conditions, plumbing, electrical connections and applicable approvals determine which options are suitable.

Who supplies appliances and finish materials?

The proposal should identify contractor-supplied and owner-supplied items. Share model numbers and dimensions before finalizing cabinetry and connections.

Can you estimate the project from photos?

Photos help with the initial discussion. A project-specific proposal may also require measurements, a property review and defined selections.

Budgeting for Your Kitchen

For a full kitchen remodel, plan an initial budget of approximately $25,000 and up. This is a planning guide, not a fixed package price; smaller scopes and premium or expanded layouts are priced individually. Cabinet layout, countertop size, appliance moves and the condition of the existing walls and systems drive the price. Keeping the sink and range in place usually creates a different scope from moving walls or utilities. We separate contractor-supplied items, owner-supplied appliances and exclusions in your written proposal.

Share your target budget early so we can discuss priorities before selections and ordering. Your estimate is based on the actual kitchen and agreed work.

What the Schedule Includes

For a straightforward kitchen installation, we may plan roughly two to three weeks of site work once selections, materials and required approvals are ready. Design, cabinet lead times, permit review and countertop fabrication are separate planning considerations. Layout changes, concealed repairs and inspection availability can extend the schedule.

The sequence typically includes protection and demolition, plumbing and electrical preparation, cabinet installation, countertop measurement and installation, then final connections and adjustments.
